Hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas and has time to relax and spend time with their families. The holidays are stressful for many reasons including trying to figure out a healthy balance of work and play on top of the extra parties and gatherings, taxes are just around the corner and lets not forget about 2014 is a new year for your business (and new goals)!
HootSuite and other Social Media Management Systems are worth looking into. They allow you to pre-schedule posts, photos and more. I’ve written about this before in “Simplifying Social Media” and now that many of us are thinking about the upcoming year, I thought I’d mention it again. Instead of logging in to Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, your blog, Instagram, Google +, and any other social media that might be associated with your business, why not consolidate and go to one place for a majority of these!
I use Hootsuite, so I will be talking about it, but there are others out there that are equally good (so I’m told). Hootsuite is great because you can write one thing and tell it to post in up to 5 different places in the free version, or more if you pay for their services.
I spent an evening with my husband on the couch eating Chinese, watching a movie and created posts for a full month!! I created a post for just about every day for Facebook, 3-5 posts a day for Twitter, and a post or 3 for LinkedIn. Some were the same for all three social medias and some only went to one of them. Let’s face it, Twitter needs a lot of attention.
You can read the walls/feeds of most of your accounts from this one location and you can even narrow down your searches. I have tabs set up that are specific to hashtags that I participate in.
When I’m in odd places, like riding in a car or waiting in line, and I tend to remember something and use their app to post or schedule a post. Their app isn’t as robust as the desk top version, but it’s still good in a pinch. They say they are working on making the app Google+ and LinkedIn business page friendly!! I suggest giving it a try and get those abandoned social medias up and running again, if you haven’t shut them down yet. It’s free and it takes less time than you think. I’d be happy to walk you through it if you prefer 1 on 1 training. Hootsuite also provides free how to videos on YouTube!
