Stabby flying bug in the house

January 10, 2023 Gardening 0

This evening, I went to check on the baby tomato plants. My husband bought me a hydroponic greenhouse for Christmas and I love it! Anyway, I’ve been debating on if I want to try to divide them and transplant them now or wait a little longer when they have a few more leaves. When I went to check their leaves tonight, I noticed a stabby flying bug chilling on the new chamomile right next to the baby tomatoes. I call Greg in, stare at it some more… Greg is lost to space and time and dimensions.

I put a cup over the chamomile trapping the self-propelled venom dart then fold up my plant layout and wiggle it between the super delicate baby plant and the cup trying my damnedest to trap the stinging fly of death.

Success!! Carefully, I walk the trap through the house and to the back door where Greg was letting the dogs in. Once the dogs and he were in, I toss all of it outside. Throw Greg to the side so I can slam door closed. He laughs at me and calls me dramatic. I’m terrified of stinging bugs. A few minutes later, after I’ve calmed, I look at Greg and say, “I’m going to need that paper back”.
