I have for a long time been a HUGE fan of dilapidated buildings. I did a whole study of overgrown gas stations back in college. Those photos still hang in my house.

A few months ago on my way to a photography job in the country, I saw these amazing, overgrown structures. I thought about them the whole time and was thankful my calendar was open after the event. I stopped at the buildings on my way back from the event. Like the country bumpkin I can be, I walked through the tall weeds and had a little date with the buildings and my camera. I love how nature overtakes buildings. It’s like nature is saying, “come back to us, old friend”. Just like how I took time to enjoy the spring blooms around Richmond, I enjoy the views of nature taking over forgotten buildings.
