Social Media Plan
I racked my brain trying to figure out what to write even though I was working on a social media plan (Twitter) for a client. Multiple people will manage the account so rules and guidelines need to be in place. Everyone needs to be on the same page, literally and figuratively.
The social media plan covers:
- Who can be followed
- What topics are off limits
- How to handle an “oops” post
- How to handle a troll
- And more (the more details, the better)
I follow famous people who have made a name for themselves, chat friends, clients, non-profits, and family. My client’s account needs to be more selective, so no celebrities.
I am the only one with access to my account so I don’t bother to write down the rules. I have rules; they are in my head. (No cussing. Keep it professional.)
If you have more than one person using your account, then you should have written guidelines that are read by all account users.
The social media plan was presented to and approved.
