About this time last year, I was at Annual Conference for VAUMC (#VAUMC14). For those of you who don’t know, the Virginia United Methodist Church has an annual meeting for each Conference. Next week Virginia Conference will meet and to say a lot will go on feels like a bit of an understatement. I will be spending that weekend helping out on the tech desk and will also be presenting at one of the dinners.
The dinner has been organized by another member of the Board of Communications. Five of us from the board will present and we created several different cheat sheets for the attendees to take home. The sheets cover website and hosting, five different social media, blogging, and a best practices sheet. We will divide up into 5 different areas and give 20 minutes talks on our particular topic. After the 20 minutes, the guests rotated to the next area of interest. We will end the dinner with an open panel discussion.
Went I’m not presenting at the dinner, I will be at the tech desk on the floor of the conference doing whatever needs to be done. I’m excited about the event and know that it will be a very long weekend for me. If I don’t come home exhausted, I’ll be shocked!
