If you ever get an email from a company telling you they can Guarantee #1 on Google, Bing, or any other search engine, don’t fall for it! This is not Search Engine Optimization (SEO), it is Paid Ads they are guaranteeing. This means you, the client, pay the most to have the top spot and are competing with other companies who have been guaranteed the same spot. It’s like a battle of the finances - who can pay the most for the top spot. The winner? The Paid Ad Company!
Pay-per-Clicks that promise a certain number of clicks aren’t much better. Some companies have been known to have people in a back room, clicking on YOUR ADS to make the “guaranteed quota”!
True story time…
My husband got a sofa from his aunt and some how the feet didn’t come with the couch. I went online looking for “sofa feet”, “couch feet”, “sofa legs”, and even found the company name that specializes in creating designer feet just to find a way to get the couch off the floor. Well, sofa feet, etc. aren’t very popular so I resorted to clicking on the paid ads and pay-per-clicks. Two of the pay-per-clicks sent me to baby items and diapers. I am still trying to figure out how looking for “sofa feet” and diapers are related! This is why I am not a fan of Paid Ads and Pay-Per-Clicks.
